The DocMode Advisory Board is a voluntary board of Specialist and Felicitated doctors aiding the mission and purpose of DocMode. The advisory group is standing (or ongoing) in nature.

Apart from constant vigilance and moderation of DocMode and overlooking quality and delivery of DocMode services, the DocMode Advisory Board also aims to be an international network of experts who have agreed to provide the portal meaningful help on a regular basis in many different areas such as law, organizational development, technology, policy, health & ethical practices, and outreach.

Dr. Brian Pinto

Dr. Brian Pinto is the Chief of Cardiology at Holy Family Hospital, Mumbai and Director Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. He is also the Interventional Cardiologist attached to Breach Candy Hospital, Nanavati Hospital and Holy Spirit Hospital. Dr. Brian is a member of the Cardiology Society of India and the Association of Physicians of India.

A DM in Cardiology from Mumbai University in 1986, he has performed more than 5,000 coronary Peripheral interventions including Trans-Radial Approach. Approximately 1,000 procedures in the Cath Lab on an annual basis, including Rotablation and Peripheral cases.

Over the years, he has specialized in Performing Coronary Angiography and Coronary Angioplasty via the Radial Approach. Device Closures of Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA) with Arterial Septal Defect (ASD). Also specialized in Series of Rotational Atherectomy cases and Series of Direct Stenting Cases along with Series FoxHollow (SilverHawk) Atherectomy Device for Peripheral Intervention.

With valuable years of experience, he is committed to the Learning process and has devoted time in guiding and teaching the younger generation of cardiologists and physicians. He has much to offer on 'the one stop shop' for Professional to Professional Medical Learning i.e. DocMode. With his presence on the DocMode Advisory Board, DocMode is aware of the guidance and direction we will receive to fulfill our mission.

Dr. J. S. Bhuvaneswaran

Dr. J. S. Bhuvaneswaran is a post graduate examiner for DM (Cardio) and Dip.N.B. Cardiology and obtained his medical degree from the prestigious Stanley Medical College, Madras and was adjudged the Best Outgoing Student for the year 1986-87. 

He completed his postgraduate degree in Internal Medicine from Kasturba Medical college, Manipal, where he was awarded the Rama Gowda Gold Medal for outstanding academic performance.  He obtained his specialty training in Cardiology from the renowned Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute, Trivandrum, and completed his DM in the year 1993.  Currently pursuing a M.B.A in Hospital Administration through distance education with Madras University.

Dr. Bhuvaneswaran is a very Enthusiastic Academician and has been a faculty for various local, National & International Conferences.  He has been presented the Dr. D. P. Basu Award for Best paper presentation at National Cardiology Conference Madras in 1993. 

At present Heads the Department of Cardiology at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore and in addition Medical Director for the PSG Super Specialty Hospitals. He is a visiting Consultant at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, KG Hospital, GKNM Hospital and Sankara Hospital, Coimbatore.

He is a Principal Investigator in Multinational GCP trials and has participated in number of trials since 1997.  He is a National coordinator for a few. He successfully organized the first State Conference of Cardiology Society of India in Coimbatore in June 2001 and was the Deputy Organizing Secretary for ICC Conference Ooty – 2005.He is a fellow of Cardiology Society of India, Indian College of Cardiology, Indian Academy of Echocardiography and Association of Physicians of India.
He was selected by Rotary International in the year 1996 to take part in Group Study Exchange in the United Kingdom.
He started his radial interventions since Dec. 2004 and now has completed around 3000 procedures which include interventions.

Dr. J. S. Bhuvaneswaran will perform a vital role in mentoring DocMode management with key advice in healthcare administration and marketing.

Dr. Pankaj D Desai

Dr. Pankaj D Desai is a M.D; F. I. C. M. C. H; F.I.C.O.G and was the President of the Federation Of Obstetricians And Gynecologists Of India: F.O.G.S.I. (2007) and also held the position of Dean of Students, Medical College in Baroda and was the Assoc. professor and Unit Chief, Dept of Obgyn, S.S.G. Hosp. & Medical College, Baroda. He currently holds the Position of Consultant Obgyn specialist, Janani Maternity Hospital Baroda. His areas of interest & active research are in Immunology, RSA, Infertility and High Risk Obstetrics

He has been awarded 7 Gold Medals in OB. GYN and has received numerous International & national awards such as the Young Gynecologist Award by Asia-Oceania Federation of Obstetrics & Gynecologists, Bangkok in 1991 and also the most outstanding Young Gynecologist award 1987. He received the FOGSI Tamaskar National Award for best work in Infertility during, 1993. And the International Fellowship Award by Indian College of Ob. Gyn. 2003. He was also honored with the Best Publication Prize Awarded which was the best published paper by The Journal of Ob. & Gyn. of India, 2005

He has achieved international & national recognitions such as being the visiting professorial fellow for Liverpool hospital, Sydney, Australia in Feb. 2003. He was the senior vice-president: F.O.G.S.I. 2002 and president of the state org. of gynecologists & obstetricians of Gujarat (SOGOG) in 1988. He was the president of the Baroda O. & G. society 1987 – 89. Chairman: FOGSI committee on medical disorders in pregnancy (1996 – 2000). He was the convenor to the scientific committee: SOGOG (1990- 1994) and peer to the journal of O. & G. of India.

He has conducted 45 orations and done 548 guest lectures, moderator, panelist & similar academic honors. He has made 98 publications and authored 8 books also 9 research papers have been awarded best paper prizes. He has made 32 contributions of chapters to different textbooks. He has been 4 times the editor/ member editorial board of Ob. Gyn. Journals.

Dr. Pankaj D Desai has also been successfully running his highly popular web portal http://www.drpankajdesai.com and with such an experience, he is familiar with the policies, procedures and power of Internet Communication to guide and support DocMode in this novel endeavor of free Professional to Professional Learning.

Dr. Duru Shah

Dr Duru Shah is past Honorary Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Grant Medical College postgraduate guide for DNB and Consultant to the Breach Candy Hospital, Jaslok Hospital and Sir Hurkisondas Hospital. She is the Program Director of Gynaecworld Assisted Fertility Unit (GAFU). Chairman of the Indian College of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ICOG). Chairman– Gynaecworld Past President of the Federation of Obstetric & Gynecological Societies of India FOGSI - 2006 and also the FOGSI Representative (Elect) to FIGO. She was the Past President – Indian Menopause Society 2008-9 and Mumbai Obstetric & Gynecological Society 2002-2003. Dr Duru Shah is the member of various professional organizations both National & International.

She conducts regular workshops on Infertility at the Gynaecworld Assisted Fertility Unit (GAFU), a center recognized by FOGSI for infertility training. She is a prolific writer who has edited and authored various postgraduate books and chapters in Ob & Gyn. Co-Editor of 2 Books on Infertility, “Practical Management of Infertility” released by Orient Longman & Company in March 2002 and “Polycystic Ovarian Disease” released by Orient Longman & Company. Invited to participate at various medical conferences both National and International on the subject of Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology. She has Participated in various workshops and conferences related to Infertility Nationally & Internationally.

Dr Duru Shah is the Convenor of “Accreditation Committee” to develop Accreditation criteria for Maternity Homes/Nursing Homes of the Federation of Obstetric & Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI) members. A FOGSI-Government of India –World Health Organization project “FOGSI-ICOG Satellite School program” – a refresher course for students in medical Colleges across the country through satellite conducted through FOGSI. “FOGSI-ICOG Ethiskill program” – an educational course to upgrade skills of PG students conducted through FOGSI. “FOGSI-RCOG collaboration” which has given FOGSI & RCOG an opportunity to have collaborative scientific sessions, All India Congress of Obs & Gyn of India and the British Congress of Obs & Gyn.
She has delivered and chaired numerous Orations across the country and also the 4th Conference of South Asian Federation of Obstetrics & Gynecology SAFOG Conference 2003 Awards.

Dr Duru Shah has been awarded the FOGSI Dutta Prize for the best publication. Annual Conference -December 2000, MOGS-Dr Ganatra Charitable Medical Centre Award for Contribution to Women’s Health at The Bombay Obstetric & Gynecological Society Conference July 2003. Awarded the prestigious “MOGS-Dr Saroj Desai Excellence Award” for the year 2007-8 at the 36th Annual Conference of the Mumbai Obstetrics & Gynecological Society.

Awarded the Top 20 women achievers of the Indian healthcare award – Modern Medicare March 2008 and also the Awarded the Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynecology– November 2008. Awarded for the valuable contribution to Medical Fraternity on Doctors Day Celebration by the Indian Medical Association Mumbai Branch- July

She has made significant Contribution to FOGSI – the National Professional Organization with leading involvement in programs such as “Growing Up” to educate schoolgirls on menstruation, its myths and hygiene. The “Let’s Talk” program to educate women between the ages of 20-25 years about contraception. The Adolescent Empowerment Project “Kishori”and the Suprabha Ganga Yatra” . Presently involved in “Saving the Mother project” which aims at reducing Maternal Mortality in about 40 villages of UP & Bihar adopted by FOGSI.

Conducted many Infertility training workshops under the aegis of FOGSI. Contributed over 100 chapters to various post-graduate textbooks, and National & International Journals. Contributed various articles to Health Magazines and Periodicals. Created 6 FOGSI TIMES, a 16-page newspaper for FOGSI during my Presidential year at FOGSI in 2006. Created 6 FOGSI FOCUS, a focused scientific 80 page scientific issue during my Presidential year at FOGSI in 2006. Chairman Working Committee “Youth Connect” collaboration between the Federations of Obstetric & Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI) & Family Planning of India (FPAI). She was responsible in obtaining and designing the first ownership premises for FOGSI during her Presidential year.

We at DocMode are glad to have Dr. Duru Shah on our advisory board and are sure with her mentorship and supervision we can achieve our intended goals.

Dr. Amar Jesani

Dr. Amar Jesani is one of the founding trustees of the Anusandhan Trust and first Coordinator of the CEHAT (1994-99). He is also one of the founders of the Forum for Medical Ethics Society and its journal Indian Journal of Medical Ethics and is presently on its editorial board.

He is the national faculty of the ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) for its NIH supported research bioethics training program and a visiting faculty and external member of the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) of the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), in Trivandrum. He is member of the Research Committee and IEC of the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), National Advisory Boards of Packard Foundation and of the Governing Board of the Center for Health and Social Justice in New Delhi.

From 1998-2000 he coordinated a National Committee for Ethics in Social Science Research in Health to develop the "Ethical Guidelines for Social Science Research in Health", published in 2000.

Since 1979, he has done 16 research and training projects, has co-authored and co-edited six books. His latest edited book, Dr. Amar Jesani and Tejal Barai-Jaitly, "Ethics in health research: A social science perspective" was released on November 27, 2005 in the valedictory session of the National Bioethics Conference in Mumbai.

With his active voice in Medical Ethics, DocMode aims to incorporate and adhere to the strictest ethical norms to provide a platform with Best practices in Medical Learning and Informatics.
